The Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets JV football team tried to beat the rain and Bertie County.

With a quick downpour just before kick-off Thursday nights game wasn't looking good. But the Roanoke Valley missed the first wave of storms and the skies cleared.

The rain and lightning came at the end of the third quarter and the game was called complete. The Roanoke Rapids JV team had the lead 16-6 and would earn the win and give them their second win of the season.

Roanoke Rapids JV team will be home again Thursday September 17th at 6 PM against Washington.
