Scholarship honors coach & student at same time.

Retired Roanoke Rapids High school teacher and softball coach Carllen Goodwin return to RRHS for a good reason today, She came to present one student an award in her name.

Roanoke Rapids senior Brianna Allen was surprised today at school by coach Goodwin and was presented the 2nd annual "Coach Carleen Goodwin Scholarship.

"It is such an honor to get an award from a lady that has had such a positive influence on my life. Ms. Goodwin has been such a role model for me during the many years I have known her & played softball under her and I hope to be half the lady she is one day," said Allen about being chosen for this award.
