Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets 2014 youth football season comes to a close.
A little later than planned, but the Roanoke Rapids youth football team held their season ending banquet this past Saturday night at the Kirkwood Adams Civic center.
Both the JV & varsity teams were 2014 season super bowl champions and received awards. The Halifax-Northampton Youth football league presented the varsity players with super bowl rings and the JV with medals and the Yellow Jackets Board of Directors presented the JV players with Super bowl rings as well and both teams with a t-shirt and bag.
Roanoke Rapids head football coach Eric McDaniels was the guest speaker to the crowd. He had every young football players attention during his speech. Coach McDaniels congratulated the players on a job well done. The players and parents were treated to a meal and treated to a DVD recapping the season that was prepared by Megan Rogerson.
Youth football coach Ed Liverman stated, "That thanks goes out to all the Yellow Jacket Youth football sponsors, the newly established Board of Directors and the entire Yellow Jacket Midget football family and a very special thank you to Roanoke Rapids High school coach Eric McDaniels as well."
