An emotional night at Hoyle field

Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets, for the first time since 1945 have advanced past the second round of the NCHSAA State Play-offs.

So much can be said for every player on the Jackets team, every coach involved and each and every one of the fans. The first thing that comes to mind is "HEART". It appears to show these kids have heart and breathe the team motto" Why Not Us".

With the 36-27 win over the Randleman Tigers at Hoyle field, the Jackets will have to travel to Little Washington next Friday night to take on Washington High who are 12-1, their only lose was to the 3A Havlock team in the first game of their season.

The sideline and stands were filled with support from former players, coaching partners, family and former school alumni and past caches to show head coach Eric McDaniels how much everyone is behind him and his team.

Roanoke Rapids Alumni Nazair Jones who is a red shirt freshman for the UNC football team and has had an outstanding year as Defensive Tackle walked the sidelines cheering on his former teammates. Former coach Russell Weinstein and several of his old coaching staff were also on the sideline cheering on Coach Mac and his team to victory.
