Halifax Academy wins 1st round

The Halifax Academy volleyball team took it to the fifth set Tuesday afternoon to win and advance to the second round in the NCISAA 1A state championship.

Halifax, #10 seed traveled to Moorsville to face #7 seed Woodlawn. Halifax took the first set 25-20, Woodlawn rebounded in second set to win 8-25. Halifax rebounded in the third set with a 25-23 win. Woodlawn edged out Halifax 11-15 for the fourth set and Halifax clutched the win in the fifth set 15-8 to advance to Fridays round.

#10 Halifax (15-7) will travel to Greensboro Friday to face #2 seed  Cresset Christian Academy (22-2) at 11:00 AM.
