Lots of volunteers and hard work come together

Town of Gaston's head of Athletics Tracy Story stated "It was a community effort of the Town Of Gaston, Lowe's Home Improvement and Lots of Volunteers to spend the day of upgrading at Dwight Hall Recreation Park Saturday morning in Gaston."

Lowe's retail store and Lowe's distribution provided most of the materials while the Town of Gaston and Discount Tire of Roanoke Rapids donated the remaining materials. Twenty-five Lowe's employees along with a few Community softball league players, Town of Gaston employees, Gaston Mayor and a couple town commissioners stepped up for the full day of Park improvements.

The Tennis court fence was removed, the concession stand was scraped and painted, the two ball field dug-outs, the electrical boxes and the picnic shelter were painted. New playground equipment was installed.

"I am very proud to be involved with the Town of Gaston, they are great caring people," stated Story.
