A Late night start pays a toll.
The Under 13 Roanoke Rapids Youth Baseball Association All-stars played game two last night in
Washington NC for the Babe Ruth North Carolina Eastern Division State Tournament.
The game was scheduled for 8 PM, so team members arrived around 6:30 PM. It was not until
10 PM when the game started. It appears the long day at the ball field payed it's toll on the players.
The Jackets fell to Lumber River West 13-3, dropping to the loser bracket but still in the tourney.
The Jackets will return today (Saturday) at 5:30 PM to play the winner of Green County/Pitt County game.
