Roanoke The Roanoke Rapids Youth Baseball Association U10 All-stars opened the Cal Ripken North Carolina Eastern Division State Tournament in Laurinburg Friday night.

The Roanoke Rapids All-stars came up short in the opening game taking a loss to Winterville 13-3.

The U10 All-stars struggled at the plate getting only 2 hits, one each by Parker Bristow and Coleman Neal.  Bristow, Russell Moore, and Jacob Edenbeck scored for Roanoke Rapids.

AJ Strickland and Moore pitched in the loss.

The Roanoke Rapids U10 All-stars are back in action today (Saturday) at 5 PM.
