Teammates are like brothers and  Hobgood will be fighting and praying for their brothers

This past Friday night's Hobgood Raiders win over Northeast was bitter sweet for the Hobgood team. For one they lost player Jimmy Andrus (#21) to a shoulder injury for the remainder of the season and he will have an upcoming surgery soon. The biggest blow to the team was that it was Junior Carson Smith’s (#88) last game of the season as well but faces the biggest fight of hos life. The Hobgood team had just learned that Smith has stage 3 Hodgkin Lymphoma and he would start Chemo and radiation this Friday at Duke taking him away from the action for the season.

These Raiders are down, no doubt, but they are NOT out. We are taking our time to weep and console, but I promise you Friday night when they strap on their shoulder pads and their helmets they will be more intent and more focused with fire in their eyes like no one has ever seen. I can already feel the power of this team's bond,” said asst. coach Michael Johnson.

This Friday night (September 20th), thanks to the graciousness of St David's, the game was changed and Hobgood will be hosting St. Davids with a earlier game time of 7:00 PM.

The team is asking EVERYONE that can be there to be there and show the team and Jimmy and Carson your support during this time. .
