Adults can play Flag Football too

The Roanoke Rapids own CFFL (Community Flag Football League) is off and running. Founder Tracy Story said today. “We ever came our biggest hurdle today, We have a field to play on,” Story added.

Similar leagues have been playing in Greenville for a couple of years Story said. I went to the City Recreation last year and was told not enough time to get it started, then this year he was told the City was not able to start the league. So Story is starting the Non-profit League on his own with some help from others in the community.

The CFFL will have at least eight teams and more if the interest is there. Each team will be made up of fourteen team members, male or female at least eighteen years of age or older. Members may live in North Carolina or Virginia.

The game will be seven on seven flag football and will be played on Chaloner Middle School field. Right now it is looking like on Sunday afternoons. There will be two games played with not every team playing every weekend. If organized on time, games will start in September and take a break around the Holidays in November and December with a playoff in January.

Anyone interested in being a team sponsor PLEASE contact Tracy Story asap 883-1543.

How this will work is as follows:

*$200 Team Sponsorship
*$20 one time fee per player
*We supply equipment and team jerseys, pay for field, pay refs etc..
* At the end of the season whatever ...money is left will be donated to a school or charity

Anyone interested in playing, we hope to have sponsors lined up asap and can list the team captains to contact about joining a roster. Right now we are trying to form 8, 14 player teams. Please contact Tracy to have your name placed on a player list.
