Roanoke River Correctional Institution is still currently without water and Halifax County Board of Commissioners Chairman Vernon Bryant has signed a state of emergency for the prison and Tillery community.

Water main breaks have caused several service issues.

The state of emergency document

The county said today that water service has been restored to affected areas which are primarily in Enfield, Scotland Neck and Tillery but the prison remains without water.

Halifax County Public Utilities crews are on the scene to determine the cause of the interruption.
