Equipment Mechanic I

An employee in this class serves as a skilled mechanic in the garage. 

The employee performs responsible and specialized skilled mechanical work on a variety of automotive, construction and specialized equipment which will include, but not limited to, mechanical work repairing gasoline and diesel motors and engines, and performing preventative maintenance, particularly on heavy equipment.  

Qualifications to include graduation from high school supplemented by course work in repair and maintenance of heavy equipment and engines and considerable experience in automotive and heavy equipment repair.

Sanitation Equipment Operator I

An employee in this position operates sanitation equipment such as a knuckle boom on an assigned route to collect and dispose of solid waste and refuse from residential and business areas.  Applicants must hold a valid NC Commercial Driver’s License. 

Police Officer  

This position is responsible for the enforcement of state and local laws.

Qualifications include: 

Be a high school graduate or have passed the General Educational Development Test indicating high school equivalency.  

Possession of valid driver's license with an active and consecutive 3-year satisfactory verifiable driving history. Driving history will be checked. (Must be able to be licensed in the State of North Carolina).

Ability to meet current requirements set forth by the North Carolina Training and Standards Commission.
* Must possess a valid or current Basic Law Enforcement Training (B.L.E.T.) certificate. 

Candidates must provide documentation of B.L.E.T. Certificate. Certified Officers preferred but will accept application for BLET Candidates. 

(CERTIFIED Starting salary $35,000.00 )
