Casey, Stauffer receive KapStone scholarships

Lauren Elizabeth Casey and Terry Lee Stauffer III, 2014 Roanoke Rapids High School graduates, were recently awarded $5,000 scholarships by KapStone Paper and Packaging Corporation.

Casey will attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill this fall majoring in Public Health Biostatistics.

She was senior class president and charter president of the RRHS Chapter of the Science National Honor Society.

Her memberships also included but were not limited to the National Honor Society, Quiz Bowl Team, Science Olympiad Team and Key Club.

She was the recipient of the RRHS Class of 1929 Academic Award.

Casey is the daughter of Jeff and Sheila Casey.

Stauffer

 

Stauffer will continue his education at North Carolina State University.

He plans to major in Animal Science.

He was the salutatorian of his graduating class.

His extracurricular activities included the Boy Scouts of America, Student Council, National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Key Club, Quiz Bowl and numerous others.

He is a member of New Testament Christian Church where he participates in the youth group and choir. He was also the recipient of the State Employees’ Credit Union Scholarship.

Stauffer is the son of Tim and Lisa Hux; and the late Terry Stauffer Jr.

 

The KapStone College Scholarship Program was established in 2011 to assist employees’ children with continuing their education. The scholarship program is administered by a third-party, Scholarship Management Services, a division of Scholarship America.
