For the second time in less than three weeks, the Village Grocery near KapStone and the Roanoke Canal Museum has been robbed.

Captain O.L. Morgan of the Roanoke Rapids Police Department said the suspect is possibly the same person who robbed the store on the evening of January 25.

This evening's robbery occurred around 6:15 when a man dressed in a camouflage coat, a stocking cap over his face and dark gloves entered the store, possibly brandishing a large knife. He was also wearing jeans and a multi-colored flannel shirt.

He demanded money while customers were inside the store. The clerk complied and the suspect left on foot, heading up what is known as Bunker Hill beside storage units and the museum.

The man left a trail of change as he fled. No one was hurt.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
