Major Scott Hall of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office said in a statement a resident returned home around 5 p.m. and found his neighbor's house had been burglarized. The neighbor noticed a suspicious vehicle parked at the house and reportedly witnessed four people running towards the car.
The vehicle left at a high rate of speed, and the neighbor attempted to follow the vehicle, a blue Mercury.
Neighboring counties were notified as Halifax County deputies went to the scene. An Edgecombe County Sheriff's Office sergeant stopped the vehicle, and Deputy Dreher Bozard and Sergeant Greg Richardson recovered guns and computer equipment, some believed to be stolen from Edgecombe County.

Deputies arrested Darius J. Council, 17; Demondre M. Arrington, 18; Nicholas L. Dickens, 18; and Rakeal F. Moody, 21, all of Tarboro, charging them with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, possession of stolen firearms, breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, injury to real property and injury to personal property.
The four were placed in the Halifax County Detention Center under $10,000 secured bonds and await a February 5 court date.
