Detective O.L. Wiltsie of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office said in a news release the breaking and entering occurred on Lees Meadow Road in the Scotland Neck area.

Investigation led to the arrests of Thomas Edwin Wilson, 22, and Haywood Lee Stewart III, 20, on charges of breaking and entering a motor vehicle and larceny of a firearm.
The men were arrested by the Edgecombe County Sheriff's Office and given $1,000 bonds. They have August 22 court dates.
