A search warrant for stolen items has resulted in several arrests and information on the whereabouts of one of the people allegedly involved, according to the Roanoke Rapids Police Department.

Police are actively looking for Eric Lee Mayton, 24, of Highway 158, who, according to Major Tommy Hathaway, faces an array of charges.

The arrests started with the investigation of two breaking and entering cases in October where several firearms, as well as cash, were taken.

The investigation led officers and detectives to develop Mayton as an alleged suspect and led to the arrest of Robert Wayne Thompson, 22, of Colonial Drive. He was charged with breaking and entering, larceny of a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm. He was jailed on $15,000 bond and has a January 9 court date.

The investigation of the case led to the execution of a search warrant last week at 1430 East Chaloner Drive, the home of Michael Bryan Hux, 29, Hathaway said. The search warrant was for stolen property but officers recovered marijuana, drug paraphernalia and moonshine.

Hux was charged with felony possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and possession of non-tax paid alcohol. He was jailed on $7,500 bond and has a January 9 court date.

The search warrant also led to the arrest of Stuart Wayne Hux of 201 Davie Smith Street, who faces the same charges as Michael Bryan Hux and has the same bond and court date.

Hathaway said the men arrested associate with one another. It is not immediately clear where the moonshine came from.
