Police seek help in two larceny cases

The Roanoke Rapids Police Department is seeking the public’s help in two larcenies.

One occurred Monday at Walmart around 10:15 a.m. when a person entered the store and placed several items valued at $125 in a shopping cart.  

Lieutenant Charles Vaught said in a statement the person exited the store without paying.

The items included various baby products, dog food and treats.

He was seen leaving the area in what is believed to be a red Kia Rio with unknown North Carolina registration.


The second involved a larceny from Family Dollar on Sunday 9:20 p.m.

The person entered the store and grabbed a tray of disposable lighters valued at $18.78.  

He exited the store and was seen running towards Sonic.
