The arrest of Lontrel Alston, 29, of Scotland Neck, occurred around 1 a.m. at a business on Highway 903 near Interstate 95.

Captain A.M. Harris of the City County Drug Task Force was at the business when a wallet, which had been left in the restroom of the business, was given to him.

Opening the wallet to determine who it belonged to, Harris noticed cocaine.

Alston, the owner of the wallet and an employee of the business, was looking for the billfold and was arrested for possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Alston received a $1,000 bond and April 23 court date.

Harris also reported on Thursday shortly before 6 p.m., agents executed a search warrant at a residence in the 400 block of Chestnut Street in Weldon.  

Agents had worked closely with officers of the Weldon Police Department on several drug complaints at the residence.

During the execution of the search warrant, Wade Anthony Grey Jr., 35, of the residence noticed agents exiting their vehicles and decided to flee. Agents captured Gray in the area.

During the search of the property approximately 5.1 grams of powdered cocaine, 8.5 grams of crack cocaine, 3.4 grams of marijuana, 26 ecstasy pills, a box of plastic bags, a razor and a digital scale were seized.

Agent D.J. Epperson arrested and charged Grey for possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, resisting a public officer, possession of marijuana up to one-half ounce, possession with intent to sell/deliver MDMA and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Grey received a $15,000 bond and May 2 court date.

At approximately 8 p.m., agents and officers of the Weldon Police Department executed a search warrant in the 100 block of East Sixth Street.  

During the search of the property no items were seized.  

Agents of the task force will continue to follow up on this residence.
