Williams to challenge Wray for state House seat

Franklin Williams Jr. of Weldon filed to run against incumbent Michael Wray in North Carolina House of Representatives District 27 race.

Williams filed for the May 8 primary today.

Meanwhile, two incumbents for the November Weldon City Schools Board of Education race have filed as has one challenger.

Challenger Edith Jenkins filed last week.

Incumbents Tanya Byrd-Robinson, who filed last week, and James “Tank” Williams, who filed today, are seeking to become re-elected.I

ncumbents Tiffany Hale and Chester Alston have yet to file.

The filing period ends Wednesday at noon.
