Roanoke Rapids police are investigating the armed robbery of I-95 Sweepstakes.

Captain Bobby Martin said currently investigators are trying to determine the direction and mode of travel of the men following the 5:30 robbery this morning.
Patrons and employees of the establishment on Premier Boulevard told investigators two people believed to black males entered the store, Martin said.
Chief Chuck Hasty said in a statement the men entered the business, displayed a weapon and demanded money. Staff complied and the men fled the business. It is not clear whether both men were armed.
Detectives continue to gather information, Hasty said.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Martin at 252-533-2820 or Halifax County Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444
