Voiding receipts and registering no sales on the register were just some of the ways Angelique Powell, 40, allegedly stole money from Five Points Mart, Detective Matt Brown of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said today.

Review of security camera footage into a shoplifting case set off the investigation when store staff noticed suspicious activity by Powell, Brown said.
The matter was reported in October, Chief Deputy Scott Hall said in a statement.
Brown said it is not clear how long money had been taken from the store. The charges filed represent a four-day period.
Powell has a March 1 court date.
