Hollister man charged in B&E spree

A Hollister man was arrested Wednesday in connection to several break-ins which occurred over five days last month.

Chief Deputy Scott Hall of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said Keith McCoy Richardson, 36, allegedly broke into vehicles and storage buildings, taking tools and a firearm.
In a statement Hall said the crime spree began on January 21 and went through January 26.
Through investigation by detectives B.C. Griffin and R.B. Biggerstaff, warrants were obtained on Richardson.
He faces charges of second-degree burglary, breaking and entering, breaking and entering a motor vehicle, two counts of larceny after breaking and entering, three counts of possession of stolen property, two counts of felony larceny, larceny of a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm. He was also served with a communicating threats warrant unrelated to crime spree.
With the assistance of concerned citizens in the area, Richardson was arrested and received a $40,500 secured bond and February 15 court date.
