The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Chuck Hasty:

Friday, January 6, 2017

• Donnell Jarryl Burgess, 20, of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested and charged at approximately 12:45 a.m. with larceny and possession of stolen goods.
He received a $500 bond and March 24 court date.
Lieutenant P. Parks responded to a larceny call at Walmart where Burgess allegedly took items.

Saturday, January 7, 2017

• Larry Mecray Zolliecoffer, 59, of Gaston, was arrested and charged at approximately 5:15 p.m. with larceny and possession of stolen goods.
He received a $1,000 bond and February 3 court date.
Master Officer J. Benthall responded to a larceny call at Food Lion where Zolliecoffer allegedly took items.

• Aaron Jerel Shabazz, 24, of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested and charged at approximately 11 p.m. with breaking and entering of a business.
He received a $1,000 bond and February 24 court date.
Officers R. Cross and J. Spragins responded to an alarm at Roanoke Cinema.
The officers located Shabazz inside the business where he was taken into custody without trouble.
