RRPD blotter: August 29-31

The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Chuck Hasty:

Monday August 29, 2016
At approximately 10:30 am., Roanoke Rapids criminal investigators and City-County Drug Task agents were in the 900 block of Henry Street following up on a homicide when they saw Cedric O’Brien Mills, 33, of Weldon, ride up on a motorcycle.
Agent Cory Dixon went to talk with Mills because he knew he did not have a driver’s license.
Mills fled but was caught after a brief foot chase.
Mills was arrested and charged with driving while license revoked, resisting/delaying/obstructing an officer, fictitious registration, no insurance and was served a fugitive warrant for charges out of Virginia.
Mills was held without opportunity for bond and has a September 28 court date.
Agent Daniel Hundley, Lieutenant Charles Vaught and Investigator Jeff Davis along with members of A squad assisted.

At approximately 9:15 p.m., Officer Alex Green responded to a larceny call at Sheetz.
Staff told Green a person, later identified as Jonathan Paul Lucas, 24, of Roanoke Rapids,took items and left in a vehicle.
Green obtained warrants for his arrest and on August 30 around 3:15 a.m., Lucas was arrested after officers located him.
He was charged with larceny and possession of stolen goods.
He received a $750 bond and September 30 court date.
Master Officer Adam Salmon assisted.

Tuesday August 30, 2016
At approximately 1:30 p.m., Officer Matt Hunsucker responded to a vehicle larceny call in the 100 block of Monroe Street.
The victim told Hunsucker their vehicle was taken when he went inside the residence.
During the investigation Hunsucker encountered Joseph Richardson, 50, of Roanoke Rapids.
Richardson gave false and misleading information.
After following up on the information provided by Richardson, Hunsucker arrested and charged him with resisting/delaying/obstructing an officer.
He received a $1,000 bond and September 16 court date.
Sergeant Terrence Tyler assisted.

Wednesday August 31, 2016
At approximately 3:45 a.m., officers Joey Spragins and Ryan Cross received information on the location of Judy Ann Ambrose, 47, of Fredericksburg Virginia.
Ambrose was wanted by the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office for drug charges.
Officers located Ambrose in the 1900 block of Julian R. Allsbrook Highway and arrested her without trouble.
She received a $50,000 bond and September 23 court date.
