RRPD blotter: August 9-10, 2016

The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Deputy Chief Andy Jackson:

Tuesday, August 9, 2016
At approximately 2:46 p.m., Sergeant Mark Peck responded to what is typically referred to as the “no-hundred block” of Madison Street on a disturbance call.
Peck witnessed a large fight involving about 10 people and called for backup.
He reported he observed a bat, stick and a rock being used.
Three people were taken into custody:
Zatez Shermal Perry, 17, of Roanoke Rapids, was charged with disorderly conduct and injury to property. Perry was placed on $500 secured bond.
Shantell Robinson, 28, of Roanoke Rapids, was charged with disorderly conduct and placed on $500 secured bond.
Tirrell Armstrong, 32 of Roanoke Rapids, was charged with disorderly conduct and placed on $500 secured bond.
All have August 6 court dates.
D-Squad and criminal investigators assisted.
At approximately 11:01 p.m., Officer Hannah Grimes conducted a traffic stop on Julian R. Allsbrook Highway.
She charged Dion Barber, 42, of Weldon, with DWI and driving with license revoked.
He was released on a written promise to appear in court on September 12.
Wednesday, August 10, 2016
At approximately 11:53 p.m., Lieutenant Jeff Baggett conducted a traffic stop on Highway 158.
Baggett charged Mark Allen Jowers, 43, of Roanoke Rapids, with DWI and possession of an open container.
He was placed in the Halifax County Jail with a $750 secured bond and September 12 court date.
