Despite the Roanoke Rapids Theatre being up for sale as well as being listed on an auction site, shows will go on in the event of a sale.

City Manager Joseph Scherer told city council Tuesday night, “Regarding, those activities already scheduled at the theater, such as concerts, in the event of a sale, it is our intent to have the buyer honor those contracted events.”
BarnBurner Promotions has shows scheduled through December at the venue.
Scherer also told council, “As recent media reports have noted, we have listed the theater with a commercial online auction company in our attempts to increase marketing efforts and widen the audience awareness and appeal for the property.”
The city manager said this morning he has not received feedback on how registration for the auction has been going. A meeting has been scheduled.
Meanwhile, he said, there has been interest expressed in buying the venue. “We’ve had some discussions. We’re still hoping to hear from them. “
