Included in the charges against Chad Logan Timberlake, 28, is one reflecting the total loss of an office building due to a fire in the building he allegedly broke into, Detective B.C. Griffin of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office said this afternoon.
The break-ins were reported from October of last year to January, Deputy Chief Scott Hall said in a statement.
Griffin said electronics and firearms were taken. He declined to discuss motive.
Timberlake was released to Halifax County on June 17. “We had been working closely with the Southampton County Sheriff's Office,” Griffin said, and upon his release in Virginia he was taken to Halifax County where he was jailed on $155,000 bond.
Griffin charged Timberlake with four counts of breaking and entering, four counts safecracking, two counts of larceny after breaking and entering, two counts of possession of stolen goods, two counts of larceny of a firearm, two counts of possession of a stolen firearm, burning of a building, and injury to real property.

Meanwhile, Hall reported on June 17, Detective R.B. Biggerstaff arrested Herbert Bynum, 34, of Roanoke Rapids, in a breaking and entering reported in Roanoke Rapids in May.
Biggerstaff charged Bynum with breaking and entering, and larceny after breaking and entering.
Bynum awaits an August 17 court date.
