RRPD blotter: October 17-18, 2015

The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Chuck Hasty:

Saturday October 17, 2015

At approximately 3 a.m., Master Officer Gerald Morris conducted a stop on Highway 158 for a traffic violation. Mark Lindsey Parks, 39, of Roanoke Rapids, was the driver of the vehicle and Morris determined he was intoxicated.

Morris arrested and charged Parks with driving while impaired and improper turn.

He was released to a responsible person and has a court date on November 23.

At approximately 10:30 a.m., Master Officer Mark Peck responded to a larceny call at The Store Next Door on Fifth Street.

The store clerk told Peck Donald Wayne Brock, 44, of Roanoke Rapids, took items from the store without paying.

Peck arrested and charged Brock with larceny and possession of stolen goods.

He received a $500 bond and a November 13 court date.

Lieutenant Bruce Norton assisted.

At approximately 8:45 p.m., Officer Ryan Cross responded to a larceny call at Walmart.

Loss prevention told Cross Jasper Wayne Faulcon, 56, of Roanoke Rapids, took items from the store without paying.

Cross arrested and charged Faulcon with larceny and possession of stolen goods.

Faulcon also had several outstanding warrants and orders for arrest and received a $16,000 bond. He has an October 28 court date.

Lieutenant Charles Burnette assisted.

At approximately 9:45 p.m., Burnette responded to a call about juveniles jumping on vehicles in the parking lot of Dollar Tree.

Burnette attempted to talk with some juveniles about the matter and one boy ran away but was located by Officer Patrick Smith.

Burnette arrested and charged Charles Antwan Jacobs, 16, of Garysburg, with injury to property and resist, delay and obstruct.

Jacobs was released to a responsible person and assigned a January 8 court date.

Morris assisted.

Sunday October 18, 2015

At approximately 1:50 a.m., Morris conducted a stop on Tenth Street for a traffic violation.

Morris determined the driver, Brad Augustus Dickens, 39, of Roanoke Rapids, was intoxicated.

Morris arrested and charged Dickens with driving while impaired and driving left of center.

Dickens was released to a responsible person and has a court date on November 9.

At approximately 3 p.m., Officer Matt Hunsucker responded to a larceny call at Walmart.

Loss prevention reported Steven Matthew Caudle, 24, and Buster Cleveland Thompson Jr., 36, of Roanoke Rapids, took items from the store without paying.

Hunsucker arrested and charged Caudle with larceny and possession of stolen goods and Thompson with trespassing.

They both received $500 bonds and November 13 court dates.

Peck and Officer Chris Biggerstaff assisted.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., Peck responded to a larceny call at Walmart.

Loss prevention reported Jalissa Latifah Eley, 21, of Roanoke Rapids, took items from the store without paying.

Peck arrested and charged Eley with larceny and possession of stolen goods.

During processing it was discovered Eley was wanted by law enforcement in Virginia.

Eley received a $10,500 bond and November 13 court date.
