Antwain Eugene Whitmore was sentenced to nine to 12 years in prison in a 2012 crash where a 28-year-old woman died.

Superior Court Judge Marvin K. Blount III of Greenville sentenced the 30-year-old Roanoke Rapids man to 111 to 146 months after Whitmore pled to aggravated felony death by vehicle this week.

The charge Whitmore pled to reflects alcohol was involved in the crash that killed Tiffany Banks of Littleton and that he was driving while his license was revoked, according to the state Highway Patrol, which investigated the crash.

The crash occurred the morning of September 23, 2012 on Thelma Road.

The vehicle traveled off the roadway to the right and collided with two mailboxes, according to the report by Trooper R,P. Dennis.

The vehicle continued to go off the roadway and struck a ditch. It began to overturn and then struck a wooden fence and six more trash cans before coming to an uncontrolled rest.
