Roanoke Rapids police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred this evening at the Subway on Premier Boulevard.

Chief Chuck Hasty said the robbery occurred shortly after 8:30 when a person described as a black male entered the restaurant with his face covered, wearing a woolen camouflage coat.

The man brandished a weapon and demanded money. An employee complied and the man left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

He was last seen leaving on foot toward the area of Fourth avenue.

A track by Officer Gerald Morris and his dog Dozer went cold at Meadowbrook Mobile Home Park, Hasty said.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
