A man allegedly selling counterfeit electronics online was arrested today and the United States Department of Homeland Security continues a financial investigation to see just how much he profited.

Lieutenant Anzell Harris of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office said Anthony Morris, 63, of Everette's School Road was allegedly selling through eBay and Amazon stores electronics in the form of computer software, video games and phone cases.

Harris received a call from Homeland Security Tuesday that possible counterfeit trademark activity was taking place at Morris's residence.

The sheriff's office went to the man's residence shortly before 10 a.m. today, along with agents from Homeland Security and the trademark holders.

Agents seized several items of reportedly counterfeit merchandise including Windows Microsoft 7 software, Kingston memory cards, Samsung Galaxy phone cases, DVDs and Nintendo DS games valued at more than $10,000.

Morris was charged with criminal use of a counterfeit trademark and received a $10,000 bond and October 2 court date.

Harris said he did not immediately know how long Morris was allegedly in business or how much he has made. A Homeland Security investigation should determine that, he said.
