A check for outstanding warrants during a recent family dispute helped the Halifax County Sheriff's Office arrest a man for an April breaking and entering.

Jaquan Robinson

Captain Scott Hall said Roanoke Rapids Police Officer T.L. Tyler did a background check on Jaquan Robison, 18, while responding to the dispute and discovered he was wanted for the April 10 breaking and entering in the Morgan Drive area.

Robinson, Hall said, was one of the people allegedly involved in the dispute when Tyler arrived.

The breaking and entering was reported after a home owner returned and found their residence broken into.

An assortment of video games controllers and other gaming equipment was stolen.

Robinson's uncle, Donnie, 48, was previously arrested for the crime. Jaquan Robinson and his uncle were each charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods.

Jaquan Robinson was jailed on $10,000 bond and awaits a September 11 court date.
