James Thomas Livingston, 22, was also scheduled to appear in Warren County District Court today to answer to a charge of financial card theft and several counts of misdemeanor financial card fraud, according to state court records.
Chief Deputy Scott Hall of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement investigation of the county case began on December 8 when Sergeant Josh Langley responded to a residence on Mosby Avenue where it was reported a storage building was broken into and the mower stolen.
Through investigation led by Detective R.B. Biggerstaff and assistance of Littleton police Chief Winnie Bowen, warrants were obtained on Livingston for breaking and entering, felony larceny and felony possession of stolen goods.
Livingston was arrested Tuesday by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and incarcerated in the Warren County Detention Center on $50,000 secured bond.
His first court appearance in Halifax County is set for December 28.
Hall said this afternoon Livingston reportedly drove the mower away from the area where it was stolen. It has not been recovered and Hall encourages anyone with information on its location to call Biggerstaff at 252-583-8201.
