RR man charged in July 11 B&E

A Roanoke Rapids man was charged Wednesday in a July 11 breaking and entering on Allendale Drive.

Deputy Chief Scott Hall of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement Lance Christopher Allen, 26, reportedly took a lawn mower, chainsaw, grass trimmer and various power tools during the break-in of a storage building.
Investigation by Detective D.C. Dickens also showed Allen reportedly either sold or pawned the items, Hall said this afternoon.
Dickens charged him with breaking and entering, felonious larceny, possession of stolen property, and obtaining property by false pretense.
Allen was jailed on $5,000 secured bond and has an August 24 court date.
The property has been recovered and returned to the victim.
