Police investigate shooting into Monroe St. house

Roanoke Rapids police are investigating a shooting which occurred around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of Monroe Street.

Chief Chuck Hasty said in a statement Lieutenant Jeff Baggett and Officer Alex Green responded to the call, in which the victim said their house was shot into. The victim told the officers while lying in bed they heard shots and saw debris flying around the room.

Investigator Gorton Williams is investigating, Hasty said. Investigation continues.

Thus far there are no suspect or vehicle descriptions, Hasty said. The house was shot into multiple times.
