The Weldon Chargers basketball teams took all three games from the Columbia Wildcats Wednesday night!
With the cold weather outside it had everyone feeling as cold as ice going down to Columbia, but the return trip home was warm and toasty for the Weldon Chargers.
The JV started the fire taking a 64-34 win easily and getting things heated for the next game. Head Coach Corey Odom saw his young team put into play some of the strategies they have been working on recently.
The next round of blazes came during the girls game. Once again Coach Grady Williams was able to give his starters some down time and allow his bench to take over the reins. They did a great job and the contributions from all the girls resulted in a win with a score of 59-13.
The final burst of heat was the result of Coach Handsome's boys team who played like a group that was on a mission. The hot hand this evening was shared by all of the starters. However the reserve players proved that they are ready to take charge when necessary. It was definitely a great display of teamwork on the court which lead to a 77-31 win. O
n Friday night the Chargers will head to Rocky Mount Prep and the plan is to keep the fire burning.
