On most Wednesdays the Weldon High School Chargers are busy reflecting on a Tuesday's game or preparing for a Friday night game, but today the Chargers visited the Huskeys of North East Carolina Prep.

Both the Varsity girls and boys game can easily be summed up as "We came, We Conquered, We left". For the athletes it was the best day to be wearing a Charger uniform. Every player got ample playing time and the score came from just about every team player. Coach Grady had 9 girls that combined for their 64 points while the other 5 did a great job on assists and rebounds. The ladies won by a score of 64-10.

In the boy's contest, Coach Handsome gave his starters most of the night off and gave the other players the opportunity to show why they deserved to wear a Charger uniform. The coaches were very pleased with their players such as Delon Joyner, Andre Stewart, Timothy and Jaquan Manley and Jordan Travis. Terry Woods also showed off his 3 point shooting ability. The starters (Jalen Lynch, Demarji Brickell, KJ Bonner, Jaheem Parker and Michael Vincent) enjoyed cheering on their teammates as they did playing tonight. The boys won by a score of 72-26.

It's back to business tomorrow as the Chargers prepare to host the Jaguars of Northampton on Friday night.
