The 3rd Annual "Team Mike" Middle School Holiday Basketball Tournament tipped off Thursday December 20th at Weldon Middle school located on Hwy 301 South of Weldon.
The Tournament is to raise funds for the late coach Mike Newsome Scholarships for High school senior athletes at Halifax Academy, KIPP High and Roanoke Rapids.
Thursday's game one:
Wyatt Middle school boys beat Halifax College Prep. 56-16.
