FOREST, Va. – Randolph-Macon junior forward Kelly Williams (Garysburg, N.C./Halifax Academy) has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Player of the Week, it was announced by the league Monday afternoon. This is the second honor for Williams this season and the third honor for a Yellow Jacket since the season kicked off.

Williams averaged 19.7 points in a week where R-MC went 3-0, including an important 65-62 victory over ODAC foe E&H at Emory on Saturday. She also averaged 17.7 rebounds, including two games with 19 rebounds each against St. Mary's (Md.) Thursday and E&H Saturday. The week opened with a 65-60 win over Mary Washington on Tuesday.

Williams also tallied the first triple-double of her Randolph-Macon career in the 80-48 victory over St. Mary's. She scored 18 points to go along with her 19 rebounds and also totaled 11 blocks, a career high for blocks.  The triple-double was Randolph-Macon's first since Megan Silva Schultz recorded on March 3, 2006 against Hood in an NCAA Tournament game. In that game, Silva Schultz recorded 22 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists.

Williams is now five rebounds away from the ODAC and R-MC record for total rebounds in a career. The current record holder is R-MC's Katie Anderson, who tallied 1,060 rebounds in her career, which spanned 2012-2016.

For Randolph-Macon, this is the third Player of the Week honor since the first week of the season. Williams won the honor for the week ending on November 19, while senior Kelsey Wisner (York, Pa./Central York), the following week, which ended on November 26. This is Williams' 14th ODAC Player of the Week honor in her three seasons with the Yellow Jackets. She also earned the U.S. Basketball Writers Association Player of the Week National Division III Player of the Week four times last season, which was the most times a player of any gender has been selected in a single season. She also earned the USBWA nod once in her freshman season to total five for her career.

Randolph-Macon will travel west in two weeks to participate in the Las Vegas Hoopla. The Yellow Jackets will face #17 Wartburg, their second ranked opponent in a row. That game will tip-off at 3:00 PM ET on Tuesday, December 18. Then on Wednesday, December 19, R-MC will face Salisbury at 5:00 PM ET. Live video is expected for the event, however there is a cost associated with viewing. You can find more information HERE.
