Distribution and Collections Department
The Roanoke Rapids Sanitary District is seeking a Distribution and Collections System Maintenance Worker I. This position performs general manual work, and duties normally associated with buried utility piping construction and repair. Prior experience or interest in water and sewer piping systems is a plus. Basic knowledge of, or ability to learn and practice water and sewer utility piping procedures and maintenance, hazards involved and safety precautions, main taps, power equipment operation, willingness and physical ability to perform manual labor; ability to understand and transmit simple oral and written instructions; trench safety; ability to keep equipment, tools and vehicles in good working condition; must be in good physical condition.
This position is subject to on-call and call-back work, various hazards including working continuously in various outside weather conditions. Additional job duties include other related tasks as assigned. Must possess a driver license valid in the State of North Carolina, CDL is a plus. Must obtain and wear, at own expense, an approved pair of safety toe shoes. Requires on-call duty including some evenings, weekends, and holidays. Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED.

Salary Range: $20.00 - $30.77 Hourly
Expected Starting Salary Range: $20.00 - $22.15 Hourly
Placement within this range will depend upon the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience.
