FINANCE DIRECTOR
The Roanoke Rapids Sanitary District is seeking a Finance Director to serve as its next chief financial officer. This position plans, organizes, directs, supervises, advises, and participates in the overall financial management functions of the District. Responsibilities include general accounting, payroll, cash collections, utility billing, fixed asset management, treasury and cash management, grant administration, financial audit reporting, employee benefit administration, and debt service management for water and sewer operations. Establishes and maintains District accounting and reporting systems pursuant to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB) standards. Oversees the preparation of financial statements and coordinates annual audit procedures. Designs annual budget process and assists CEO with budget preparation and management. Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field of study along with a minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible financial experience, including three (3) years of management level experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree in business administration, public administration or a closely related field of study is preferred. CPA, NCGFOA or comparable professional designation/certificate is also preferred. Applicants must be proficient in Office Excel and Word. Possession of valid NC driver’s license required. The successful candidate must be bondable. Salary Range: $81,516 - $125,176 Annually
Placement within this range will depend upon the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience.
