On February 4th Brian Blanchard went into cardiac arrest and 22minutes later, God gave us more time with him.

Brian’s recovery can only be explained as a miracle performed by the grace of God.  Please support the Benefit for Brian.  Any donation to the benefit will help the Blanchard family to pay for expenses related to his rehabilitation.

Brian and his wife Wanda, both natives of Roanoke Rapids, are members of Rosemary United Methodist Church.  They have four children and three grandchildren.

The friends of Brian and Wanda Blanchard have partnered together to plan a community-wide Benefit for Brian.

On Sunday, June 9th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., a benefit will be held at the Kirkwood Adams Civic Center, located at 1100 Hamilton Street.

Rain or shine you’ll be able to dine-in and enjoy barbeque, coleslaw and baked beans for only $8 per plate, prepared by David Burke and Mike Clark.

While you’re there, plan to purchase a dessert for you and your family from the bake sale.

Throughout the day, a Chinese auction will be held where you may buy tickets to enter a chance to win items/services donated by our community and you don’t have to be present to win.

If you prefer to eat at home or have a fellowship at church, then plan to pick up your barbecue plates at the drive-thru plate pick up available in the Kirkwood parking lot.

So if you haven’t found that Father’s Day gift or if you want to do something different for Sunday lunch, please support the Benefit for Brian on Sunday, June 9th.

To purchase tickets in advance, please stop by one of the following sponsors:  Flambeau Outlet Store (100 Grace St., Weldon), G.W. Hux & Co. Insurance (1111 Roanoke Ave.), or Heaton Real Estate (E.10th St & Long Circle).

For more information about how you can help or to purchase tickets, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Donations of baked goods may be dropped off at Kirkwood Adams beginning at 9 a.m., Sunday, June 9th

Thank you for your generosity and support for the Blanchard family.
