The recent rrspin post from my opponent claiming that he obtained $114,000 for the Historic Halifax site in House Bill 125 is just laughable.
Mr. Pierce voted NO on House Bill 125.
That means he DID NOT support the funding of this project.
See for yourself at this link and see the roll call vote at this link
Mr. Pierce was one of 23 Democrats who voted against the bill. The measure was passed on July 30, 2025, at 11:16 a.m. on a recorded vote by the house clerk.
This is more double-talk from our state representative. He is all talk and no action.
This is typical politics for Mr. Pierce taking credit for something that he voted against.
In regards to House Bill 1012 which included a $3 million appropriation request from the NC Economic Development Commission for a spec site in Halifax County, Mr. Pierce did vote for that measure. However, he claims credit for something that someone else requested.
The $3 million was not a requested appropriation from Mr. Pierce.
You see, Mr. Pierce did not get a single appropriation request into the state budget. He did not get a single piece of legislation passed and signed by the governor.
How many economic development grants for our local towns did Mr. Pierce get passed? How many water and sewer projects did Mr. Pierce get passed? How many new fire trucks did Mr. Pierce get for our district? How many workforce training programs did Mr. Pierce get funded?
Mr. Pierce can talk a big game now, but when it comes to telling the truth, well, he’s truly challenged.
How can you say you got money for a local project when you voted against it?
Mr. Pierce wants it both ways and that just shows he doesn’t understand how Raleigh works.
