Medicaid expansion in North Carolina has been a major advance for rural healthcare providers. In Halifax, Northampton, and Warren counties, Medicaid expansion helped more than 18,000 patients get access to affordable healthcare coverage.
The groundbreaking measure has helped stabilize our rural hospitals and allowed them to continue to operate — serving low-income and senior populations.
And did you know that Rep. Michael H. Wray was a primary sponsor of this legislation?
For six years, Mr. Wray worked across party lines to support Medicaid expansion.
He worked with Governor Roy Cooper, and he worked with Republican legislative leaders to get the legislation across the finish line.
So, when you see politicians criticizing Mr. Wray for working across party lines to get such meaningful legislation passed, you need to ask yourself, would you rather have a state representative who can get really important legislation passed? Or do you want a lawmaker who puts party before country and state?
I, for one, want a lawmaker in Raleigh who can get things done.
And Michael Wray has proven to me that he knows how to get things done in Raleigh that really helps the folks here at home.
