Born on September 1, 1944 to the late Raymond and Margaret Edwards, she will be remembered as a devoted wife, caring mother, Grammie, sister, aunt, loyal friend, and strong Christian.
She was a faithful member of Victory Baptist Church, where she served God.
She touched many lives in her church and community by always giving to others, whether it be a meal or just giving her time for a chat, but never expected anything in return.

She loved her family and cherished every moment with them, always ending their time together with “I Love You.”
She loved reading Christian novels, going to the mountains, and staying in a bed and breakfast to relax, people watch, and read.
She is survived by her husband Wesley Newsome, her sister Judith Edwards Rushing, her children Cynthia Lynette Browder, Raymond Stephen Poole, and Harvey Wyatt Nunnally, III, her grandchildren Caitlin Elizabeth Browder, Madison Lee Browder, William Landen Poole, and Emerson Rae Poole, along with nieces and nephews, and a community of friends and loved ones who will cherish her memory."
The Funeral service will be held at Victor Baptist Church, Roanoke Rapids NC, July 5, 2023 at 2:00pm, with Pastor Jeremy Kobernat and Pastor Randy Martin officiating the service.
The family will receive friends an hour before. Interment will be held at Emporia Cemetery, Emporia, Va., following the service.
