Debra Kay Greene, 63, of Weldon, passed away unexpectedly on 7/1/2023.
She was born in Roanoke Rapids to Willis Blanchard Hayes (Bill) and Patricia Ann Hayes (Pat).
She was survived by her husband of 42 years, Mike Greene, her daughter, Nikki New, son in law, Doug New, 2 grandchildren, Mason and Mackenzie New. Kay was preceded in death by her mother, father, and 2 brothers (Blan Hayes and Wayne Hayes).

Kay was the best wife, mother, grandmother, friend and caregiver any of us could ask for.
She was a hard worker and worked many years for Newsom Oil Company in the Village Grocery convenience stores.
Later, she worked for Eastern Petroleum in Enfield. Regardless of where she worked, she always worked hard and put her heart and soul into all of her work.
She was loyal, selfless and would do everything she could to help anyone that needed anything. She loved deeply and would move mountains for her family and friends if needed. Above all else, her proudest accomplishments were her daughter and grandchildren.
She enjoyed sharing stories and pictures of her daughter and grandchildren.
Per Kay’s request, there will be no memorial service.
She would just ask that you keep her family and friends in your thoughts and prayers as they mourn her loss.
