Annetta Poythress Casper, 91, died Saturday, September 03, 2022, at Carolina Rest Home in Roanoke Rapids.

Mrs. Casper was born in Mecklenburg County, VA, daughter to the late Skelton Lambert and Alma Elaine Jones Poythress.  

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Casper was preceded in death by her husband, John Waverly Casper and her brothers, Robert Lee, Skelton Louis, and James Roosevelt Poythress, (son) Richard Eugene Barnes, (daughter) Hazel Barnes Blowe.

 Surviving are her daughters, Karen Barnes Ward, Miranda Barnes Edwards and husband, John, all of Roanoke Rapids; sister, Marion Poythress Conner of Gaston; 5 grandchildren, Crystal Michelle Cullom, Lisa Marie Urbahns, Amanda Ward Isbell, Shari Barnes, and Loretta Bradley; 8 Great grandchildren, Dylan Wade Johnston, Haleigh Hardy, Brianna Marie Parks, Leland James Griffin, Miranda Brielle Clark, Wesley Scott Allen, Hunter Reed Isbell and Xander Dean Isbell, Angel Nicole Richardson.  Also surviving are 2 Great-Greatgrandchildren, Trenton Wade Johnston, and Alani Jade Hardy.

Jason Yeatts, Minister, will conduct a chapel service at Wrenn Funeral Service, Thursday, September 08, 2022 at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the chapel service also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery, Roanoke Rapids.
