Willard “Martin” Baird Jr., 70, was born on Aug. 12, 1951, in Halifax County, and passed away on Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, at UVA Hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his father, “Bill” Baird; and wife, Jamie Fuquay Baird.

He is survived by his mother, “Pat” Baird; daughters, Ashley (Daniel) and Brittany; siblings, Tommy (Staci), Dickie (Pam), Jimmy (Brenda) and Kaye Hasty (Keith); grandchildren, Clark and Claire; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9 at Wrenn, Clarke & Hagan Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids, which is handling the arrangements.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10 at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
The family asks all who attend to please wear masks in accordance with current guidelines.
