Joan Blanchard, a beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on October 12, 2025.

Her life was defined by love, faith, and an enduring devotion to her family and friends.

Born on July 16, 1946  to the late Nettie Boyd Wallace and Charlie Brightman Wallace, Joan grew up in a large, close-knit family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers and sisters, Charlie Wallace, Jack Wallace, Barbara Dean Wallace, and Mary Eagan; and two of her cherished children, David Beam and Tina Hoover.

Joan is survived by her devoted husband, Tim; her loving children, Karen Schoonover (Brian) and Anthony Beam (Leighann); and her brother, Jimmie Wallace (Betty).  She also had a very special friend, Sandie Luthie.

She was the proud grandmother of Lee DelSanto, Jr., Wendi Howie, Katie Carroll, Beth Stig, Meghan Beam, Morgan Beam, Jessica Beam, Christine Livesay, Cierra Livesay, and Jarrett Livesay; and the adoring great-grandmother of Summer DelSanto, David Carpenter, Dakota DelSanto-Rice, Brooke DelSanto, Lee DelSanto III, David Tripp, Callie Tripp, Kaylee Tripp, Emma Carroll, Brentley Carroll, Alexis Stig, Leland Ricks, Collin Ricks, Alexis Lewter, Jackson Livesay, Savannah Grace Helms, Brantley Cooke, Annaleigh Cooke, Luke Pickeral, and Savannah Pickeral.

Joan’s greatest joy in life was her family. She filled her home with warmth and laughter, creating a place where everyone felt loved and welcome.

Filling her home with pictures, she took pride in her children and grandchildren, celebrating their achievements and offering steady love and encouragement. Her kindness, resilience, and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

When her body did not betray her, Joan loved to dance with her husband.  She enjoyed watching her favorite old Western movies, but her most favorite pastime was cooking a good old-fashioned meal for everyone to enjoy.  She loved feeding family and friends.  No one left her home without a full belly.
